Glorious rain!

Such a pleasure to go to sleep at night hearing the rain falling heavily on the roof above.
I woke up this morning and found our pond very full - the rain fall has helped, but so has the drainpipe we have running from our overflowing guttering around the roof as well. The water is now right up to the line of rocks and much more rain will mean I’ll have to turn the tap we have on the pipe so the water doesn’t start overflowing the pond or going back up the pipe feeding the pond.
Maybe we really should consider putting in a rain tank.

Hi Kathie, I just saw your blog picked randomly (blotanical) The pond looks good. I have to come back to your plot for a better and longer look.
Your pond looks lovely! Gardening is such a rewarding hobby and it looks like you must enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Kathie,
As I type this, it is raining outside. It is a MUCH NEEDED rain because we have been in a serious drought for nearly two years. Normally, I would complain about it being a “yucky” day but when you put everything in its proper perspective, it is a blessing! Just the way God intended it to be.
That’s wonderful that you have rain. A rainwater tank is certainly a great idea. That way you can use the water on your garden during summer. We’re on all rainwater here (no piped water at all) and really looking for a rain to top up our supplies. My husband has been carting water for our sheep.
I do love gardening too.. Just by looking at my green and flowering plants gives me a feeling of being at peace.. Plants do really love rain water and in the absence of it I replace it with the rice water..
